Brisbane Roar have jumped to the top of the Hyundai A-League with a scrappy 1-0 win over Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Roar dominated in the opening stanza but failed to capitalise on their chances with striker Dimitri Petratos wasting two gilt-edged opportunities in front of goal.
But John Aloisi’s side weren’t to be denied, with substitute Henrique marking his return from injury with a sublime dink past stranded Glory keeper Ante Covic.
The win – Brisbane’s fourth of the campaign – took them past Sydney FC into pole position in the table with 13 points, two ahead of the Sky Blues.
For Perth, Sunday’s result marked their third straight defeat in all competitions and fourth in five games in the A-League, leaving the Glory second-bottom with just three points.
