Adelaide United coach Carl Veart has confirmed Ben Halloran has left the Reds, sealing a deal with an unnamed South Korean club.
Halloran was a notable absentee from Adelaide’s matchday squad against Wellington Phoenix, which they won 4-0 for their first win of the A-League Men season at the sixth time of asking.
United’s social media listed the speedster as “unavailable” prior to kick off.
When quizzed on the availability of players heading into Adelaide’s home FFA Cup quarter-final against Melbourne Victory on Wednesday night, Veart confirmed they had parted ways with the 30-year-old.
“Ben Halloran wasn’t … he is moving on,” Veart said.
“He’s got himself a move to Korea so he’ll move to Korea effective immediately so we’ll wish Ben all the best.
“He’s got a great offer on the table, something that he couldn’t resist so we wish him all the best.
“That’s something that as a club, we ask a lot from the players and when they’ve got opportunities like these, we wish them all the best and hopefully he has some success over there.”
Halloran played 88 games and scored 21 goals across all competitions for the Reds since joining ahead of the 2018 season, winning two FFA Cups and the Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion award in the 2020/21 season.
