Ryan Griffiths has shunned interest from both rival A-League clubs and teams from abroad to re-sign with the Newcastle Jets.
Griffiths has signed a new two-year deal with the Jets and said the direction of the club was a major factor is his decision to stay in the Hunter.
“My sole reason for signing was about joining a Club with a huge future,” Griffiths said.
“I believe the Jets can provide exactly that and I want to be a part of it.”
“From when I first arrived here to when the Hunter Sports Group took over the Club, the change and professionalism of the Club are second to none.”
“Whilst I know we can still improve, it is an exciting time to be at the Jets.”
“Although I wasn’t born here, I consider myself a Novocastrian just like my wife and son and I wouldn-t want to be anywhere else.”
Jets Coach Gary van Egmond added: “Ryan is a talented player with a lot to offer; on and off the field his leadership is particularly exemplary.”
“Ryan is a true professional and sets a great example for all the players.”
“We are pleased he agreed to stay in Newcastle and play for the Jets.”
