Skipper Rostyn Griffiths says Perth Glory have their sights on the Hyundai A-League top four after Saturday night’s nail-biting win over Newcastle Jets.
Glory held on for a crucial 3-2 win at nib Stadium thanks to a first-half brace from sensational Spaniard Diego Castro and another to Adam Taggart after the break.

The three points – coupled with Melbourne City’s loss in the Melbourne Derby – has seen Kenny Lowe’s side move just two points behind City in fourth spot.
Having been fighting to stay in and around the top six for much of the campaign, Griffiths says Glory is now looking up on the ladder and chasing down those above them.
“We spoke about it before the game. Melbourne City slipped up so we wanted to try and catch them,” Griffths told Fox Sports.
“That’s what we want to do now is catch people ahead of us.
“We’ve been looking behind us all season to try and stay in the top six but now we want to pull away and get in that top four.”
Glory dominated most of the clash with the Jets, creating a number of excellent opportunities to add to their three goals.
But the visitors refused to go away and gave themselves hope of getting a result when Jason Hoffman pulled it back to 3-2 with just under 20 minutes left.
“I thought first half we were really good value. Second half we started well but drifted out of the game a bit,” Griffiths conceded.
“We expected Newcastle were going to try and get something out of the game and we slipped away a little bit.
“We’ve got strengths and we’ve got weaknesses and were just trying to get that [consistent] 90 minutes. I thought today was an important 3 points.”
Glory will be involved in Harvey Norman Friday night football next week as they travel to Adelaide to play the Reds.
