A-League stars honoured for stellar seasons

“Perth is no doubt an attractive city with nice weather and beautiful beaches but I am looking forward to playing good football under coach Kenny Lowe and his assistant Andy Ord. I have been able to get to know them well in recent years, so I’m looking forward to the move.”

Antony Golec and Nicholas Fitzgerald tangle at Pirtek Stadium.

Golec who made his A-League debut at just 18, said that under Lowe, Glory showed the club was a force to be reckoned with.

“This year they were fantastic, they played great football and to finish only three points behind the champions (Melbourne Victory) was a great achievement,” he added.

Lowe said Golec, who played for the U-20 and U-23 national teams, was a great acquisition for the club.

“He’s got a good pedigree, played for two top clubs in Australia, he’s versatile and has played in an Asian Champions League final, so that tells you what kind of player he is.”

Golec, is due to arrive in Perth next month, before he joins the team for pre-season training in mid-June.
