Perth Glory have seen off stiff competition to seal the signing of versatile Caltex Socceroo Ivan Franjic on a two-year deal.
Franjic left Brisbane Roar earlier this week and has been quickly snapped up by new Glory boss Tony Popovic.

Capable of playing on either side of defence or in advanced positions, the 30-year-old arrives at his new club with 20 international caps and a FIFA World Cup appearance on his resume.
He was also heavily involved in Australia’s success at the 2015 AFC Asian Cup and, having won three Grand Finals in Brisbane, is “excited” to compete for more trophies.
“I’d be lying if I didn’t say my goal was to win silverware for this club,” Franjic said.
“I believe that with Popovic and the players already signed that we can win the whole thing.
“I’ll bring experience to the defence and I’m always a team player. I think with a full pre-season people will see the best of me here at Perth.”
Franjic noted Popovic’s presence as a key reason for making the move.
“The gaffer made me feel really welcome and explained to me the challenges ahead and it’s something I’m looking forward to,” he said.
“I’m always looking to better myself and I think he can help a lot in that regard, so working with him will be something special for me.”
SQUAD CHECK: Every Hyundai A-League in, out, squad
Franjic also counts Torpedo Moscow, Melbourne City and Daegu FC among his former professional clubs and was named in the PFA A-League Team of the Decade in 2015.
Glory confirmed they are expecting further player announcements in the “very near future” as Popovic reshapes the squad.
