Perth Glory captain Rostyn Griffiths says his side’s hostile approach was key to unsettling a star-studded Melbourne City in Friday night’s 3-2 away win.
The visitors prevailed in a heated clash which saw referee Alan Milliner produce 10 yellow cards and send Glory coach Kenny Lowe to the stands.

“We said before the game we’ve sort of got to turn this into a bit of a dogfight, mix it up with them and get in their faces,” Griffiths told Fox Sports.
“You can talk about tactics as much as you like but the fight from the boys tonight was phenomenal and I’m just so proud of them.
“I’m glad (City have) got a bit of fire because for me in previous (seasons) they were good players but a little bit softer. They turned out tonight and they fought.
“I’m glad it was like that because I think that’s better for us.”
Griffiths also hailed the “unbelievable” performance of hattrick hero Andy Keogh, who shook off the disappointment of last week’s missed penalty to inspire Perth to victory.
“To respond after that penalty he hit last week… that’s the character of Andy,” Griffiths said.
“The guy has played in the Premier League.
“I’m reading on Twitter and he’s getting hammered. Then he turns out tonight and puts three goals in the back of the net so I think that keeps a few people quiet.”
