Two stunning goals from Adelaide United’s Danielle Colaprico has thwarted Perth Glory’s bid to move to the top of the Westfield W-League ladder.
Glory striker Rosie Sutton put the home side in front after just 10 minutes when she latched on to a clever pass from her skipper Sam Kerr before sidestepping goalkeeper Sarah Willacy and hammering the ball into an empty net.
Colaprico caught the Glory defence napping in the 15th minute, striking a sweet left-foot goal from outside the box to put the contest back on even terms.
Glory dominated the match, but failed to make the most of their chances as Colaprico netted another spectacular goal just six minutes from full-time to seal Adelaide’s second consecutive win following last weekend’s 10-2 drubbing against Western Sydney.
Colaprico said her team went into the match eager to continue their winning streak.
“We didn’t want to be a team that won one game and then had a let down in the next one,” she said.
“I think we got lucky on some of the chances because they created a lot and they should have scored some, but we got lucky and I think we came out on top for a reason because we fought hard.”
Perth would have moved to the top of the Westfield W-League with a win over Adelaide. Making matters worse, Kerr will miss next Sunday’s away clash with the Wanderers after picking up two yellow cards.
Willacy was called into action multiple time during the second half, denying chances from Sutton, Kerr and Alyssa Mautz around the hour mark.

“It’s hard to lose that way but the good thing is that we created a tonne of chances,” DiBernardo said.
“The best thing is that we’ve already made the final four, but we want to make the top two and, if we can, win the league.”
