Glory reveal FFA Cup and away kit

Western Australian pride and the historic colours of black and gold coupled with the iconic Black Swan have laid the backdrop to form Perth Glory’s new Westfield FFA Cup and Hyundai A-League Away match kit.

It was revealed today for the first time by new recruits Adam Taggart and Rhys Williams at Elizabeth Quay.

The colours will be on show tomorrow night at Dorrien Gardens in North Perth, when Glory hosts Sydney FC in the Round of 16 of the Westfield FFA Cup.

Williams, 28, returned to Perth this season to sign with his home-town club after an 11-year stint in the UK with Middlesbrough FC and said he was proud to be wearing the state themed kit.

“I like the contrast of the state colours and the black swan on the neck line, so I think it will bring the fans, members and the city of Perth together.”

Williams said the new kit should resonate well across WA given the high number of home-grown players in the squad.

“I think there’s definitely a strong sense of state pride wearing the strip and given there are 14 local lads in the team, that sense of pride is only stronger”.

The club’s Italian apparel partner Macron, has designed the kit using its “Mperformance” material.

“This is an incredibly light material with enhanced breathability to ensure maximum comfort for the players” said David King, Managing Director of Macron Australia-New Zealand.

“We were conscious of the 14-home grown players in the squad and the desire to create a state themed look and to be able to pay tribute to the club’s WA roots and history”.

The kit is now available for pre-order HERE and is the first of two new kits for the season ahead.

The club will also unveil a Heritage Jersey to be worn for the first home match of the season against the Central Coast Mariners at nib Stadium on October 8 and is scheduled to be revealed at the club’s annual Family Fun Day in early October.

Pre-orders for the Heritage jersey can also be made HERE.

Kick-off for the RD of 16 Westfield FFA Cup match between Perth Glory and Sydney FC is at 6.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased online HERE or at the gate.
