Perth Glory has responded to claims Caltex Socceroo defender Rhys Williams is set to leave the club.
Reports emerged on Monday that Williams was seeking to get out of his contract at Glory just 11 rounds into his tenure at the club.
But the club have released a statement on Monday to try and clear up the speculation.
“The club would like to confirm and reiterate Rhys Williams is contracted to Perth Glory Football Club,” CEO Peter Filopoulos said in the statement.
“As part of the player’s obligations, he is required to meet and perform all terms and conditions of his standard player contract.
“No further comment will be made.”
Williams still has 18 months to run on his deal with the club.
