Perth Glory FC have announced the termination of Mitch Nichols’ contract by mutual consent to allow the player to return early to his base in Japan.
The 26-year old midfielder arrived at Perth in the pre-season on loan, from Cerezo Osaka. He made 14 appearances for Glory, ten of which he started.
Nichols played a starring role for the team before suffering a hamstring injury on the eve of the Westfield FFA Cup Final in December.
He last played for Perth Glory in the team’s 3-2 win over Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 23.
Meantime Glory will host Sydney FC this Friday night in what’s expected to be a tough grudge match at nib Stadium.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online here.
