Ahead of the new Hyundai A-League campaign, Perth Glory will take on Chilean Primera Division side Audax Italiano in a pre-season friendly at nib Stadium in July.
Four-time Chilean League Champions Audax Italiano will arrive in Australia later this year for international pre-season friendlies against the Newcastle Jets (July 8) and Perth Glory FC (July 12).

Glory CEO Peter Filopoulos is delighted to welcome to Chilean first division side to the West.
“Perth Glory don’t have many opportunities in the off-season to participate in friendly matches and to be able to play a game against a quality international team such as Chilean giant, Audax Italiano FC, is a very welcome opportunity,” Filopoulos explained.
“Audax Italiano may not be a household name in Australia, however, they are a very competitive club playing in a challenging 16 team league, so this represents a unique opportunity for us to be exposed to and interact with a club that we would not otherwise encounter,”
“This match will take place during the second week of our pre-season and will most likely provide our Members and fans with their first opportunity to witness our new recruits in the flesh against a quality opponent.”
Who are Audax Italiano?
• ‘Los Tanos’ hail from La Florida, just 20 kilometres south-east of the Chilean capital Santiago.
• Founded in 1910, Audax Italiano are today recognised as one of the premier development clubs in the football fervent South American nation.
• Their main rivals in the league are Unión Española (founded by Spaniards) and Palestino (founded by Palestinians).
• The side’s 2017/18 Chilean Primera División Apertura campaign is scheduled to start in late July, meaning the match will serve as crucial preparation for both teams leading into their respective seasons.
