Young Roar has been handed a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Foxtel National Youth League leaders Perth Glory at Goodwin Park.
Two goals in three minutes confirmed the result, just Brisbane’s second loss in the opening six rounds of the 2014/15 campaign.
The first real chance of the match came in the 14th minute as midfielder Mitchell Hore found Abrahim Yango with a clever through ball.
The Young Roar striker was forced wide, his resulting cross missed by the head of Hore and Sam Sibatuara forcing two important saves from the away team goalkeeper Jordan Thurtell after he followed up his original strike with a quick rebounded effort.
In a tough blow, the Glory Youth then travelled up the other end of the Goodwin Park pitch and took the lead when overage player Chris Harold scored from a tight angle when one-on-one with Roar’s Fraser Chalmers.
Perth doubled their advantage three minutes later as pressure on the Roar back four resulted in an unlucky own goal.
After a goalless second half, the Foxtel National Youth League leaders held on to secure three points in Brisbane.
The Young Roar’s next match is on Sunday, 30 November against Sydney FC Youth at 2pm. Venue to be confirmed.
