Perth defender Josh Risdon says his side paid for a slow start on Sunday as Glory were beaten 2-1 by Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.
With coach Kenny Lowe watching from high up in the stands following his two-game touchline ban, Glory were on the back foot from the start and trailed 1-0 at the break after Jamie Maclaren’s first goal of the Hyundai A-League season.
While Nebojsa Marinkovic equalised for the visitors nine minutes after the break, substitute Brandon Borrello grabbed the winner to condemn Perth to their first defeat of the campaign.

“We were very disappointed with the first half. To be honest we were probably lucky to only be 1-0 down,” an honest Risdon told Fox Sports.
“We revved everyone up in the change room and I thought we came out very good in the second half.
“We got one back, started very well and had control of the game. Unfortunately we let them back in and couldn’t hold onto it.”
It was a disappointing performance from Glory, especially after their impressive win over Melbourne City last round.
Risdon said that victory over City did give the whole squad a lift but they found it difficult to reproduce that display in a second straight match away from home.
“It is a bit hard with the flight and the time difference but we did have a long turnaround,” the Caltex Socceroos defender said.
“We were on a high from the last game [against City].
“But that flight takes it out of you and I think it might have shown in the first half.”
Glory is back home at nib Stadium next weekend, taking on Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday night.
