Glory coach receives suspension from MRP

Perth Glory Head Coach Kenny Lowe has been sanctioned by the independent Match Review Panel (MRP) following their deliberation into the weekend’s Round 3 action.

The independent Match Review Panel – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Matthew Breeze and Adam D’Apuzzo – convened today to consider an incident involving Kenny Lowe (Head Coach, Perth Glory) in or around the half time interval of Perth Glory’s Round 3 match against Melbourne City FC on Friday, 21 October 2016.

The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Lowe was expelled from the match by the referee.

The MRP determined that Lowe committed the offence of Use of offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures towards a match official. The MRP has proposed a sanction of two (2) matches, being the Mandatory Match Suspension plus one (1) additional match.

Under the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations, Lowe may refer the matter to the independent Disciplinary Committee for hearing and Determination of the sole question of what additional sanction should be imposed above the Mandatory Match Suspension (which must be served). Lowe has until 12:00pm (AEDT) Tuesday, 25 October 2016 to advise whether he wishes to appeal the one (1) match proposed by the MRP, in addition to the Mandatory Match Suspension.
