Perth Glory Women coach John Gibson has welcomed Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) announcement of the fixtures for the 2010/11 Westfield W-League season.

Perth Glory Women coach John Gibson has welcomed Football Federation Australia-s (FFA) announcement of the fixtures for the 2010/11 Westfield W-League season.

The Glory will open their account at home to Canberra United on Sunday November 7 at 6PR Stadium and follow that up with another home match in Round 2 against Adelaide United.

Season 3 of the Westfield W-League will see an extended 10-game season, with the finals running through until the decider on February 12.

After narrowly missing out by just one point on a finals berth last season, it is shaping up as the most exciting season in the Perth Glory Women-s brief history.

Gibson is happy with the draw which will also see his side feature in three ABC broadcast matches.

“I-m very happy with the draw, it will be a fantastic challenge for the group going forward,” he said.

“The Westfield W-League is short in duration but high in intensity and there is no doubt this season will be more competitive than previous years.

Gibson is also happy with how his squad is coming along with just over 11 weeks until the season opener.

“The Perth Glory W-League squad will be looking to build on depth and quality this season,” he said.

“We always have a positive attitude and we are quietly confident in reaching our target of playing finals football.”
