Central Coast utility Scott Galloway has found little comfort in his first goal for the club during the Mariners’ cruel defeat to ladder-leading Sydney FC on Sunday.
Galloway sent the majority of the 11,398 fans into raptures when he pounced on a loose ball to pull the hosts level in the 76th minute.
Their rousing revival came undone just a minute later though as David Carney controversially headed Sydney into a match-winning 3-2 lead.

“It was nice to score the goal but I still wasn’t happy with my performance,” Galloway told Fox Sports.
“In the first half I could have given away a goal with the mistakes I made.
“It’s nice to get on the scoresheet but in the end it means nothing because we don’t get the points.”
Central Coast continue to be hamstrung by the competition’s leakiest defence having now conceded 31 goals across 14 matches, with fullback Galloway acknowledging the record as hampering his side’s chances of success.
“We switch off at the wrong times and concede sloppy goals,” he said.
“We have to work for our goals but we seem to give them away cheap.
“It just kind of seems to be the story of our season.”
