Front two win again – Round 5 Review

Melbourne City and Sydney FC remain virtually inseparable at the top of the Westfield W-League standings after the pair earned tough away wins over Brisbane Roar and Newcastle Jets respectively.

The pair are equal on 12 points after winning 2-1 on Sunday, though Melbourne City are one goal clear and they also have a match in hand.

Canberra United lost touch with the leading pair after they were held 2-2 at Adelaide United on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, Perth Glory moved up to fourth with a solid 2-0 away win over Melbourne Victory.

Next weekend’s action includes Brisbane Roar hosting Adelaide United in front of the Fox Sports/ABC TV cameras, while Canberra United visit champions Melbourne City on Saturday in a potentially epic match-up.
