The Foxtel Junior All-Star of the week is an award given to a grassroots footballer between the ages of 8 and 12 who has had outstanding on-field success or made a significant contribution to the football community in the 2013 season. 6 winners will receive the award during the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season in locations including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and the Central Coast.
The first ever Foxtel Junior All Star of the Week winner was Melbourne Victory fan Jordan Meredith from Thurgoona, NSW. Jordan made the SAP Victoria Country team in 2013 and also coached the local Under 7s. He helped with ground set up, pack up, running a line when needed and even cooking chips in the canteen. He is a Melbourne Victory junior member and travels from Albury to attend games.
The Foxtel Junior All-Star or the week has the honour of presenting the official match ball to the players at the centre circle on field broadcast live on FOX SPORTS with integrated commentary.
The winner also receives a medal, football kit, tickets to attend the match with friends and family, certificate and a DVD of the game which features them delivering the match ball.
The Foxtel Junior All-Star of the week is part of Foxtel-s initiative to support football from grassroots right through to elite.
