Youssouf Hersi joined the Western Sydney Wanderers in their inaugural season having had an extensive football career overseas. Hersi-s attacking flair and never say die attitude immediately won over the Wanderers faithful as he helped them claim the Premier-s Plate with some impressive performances throughout the season. The 33-year-old-s selection comes off the back of a season that featured five goals and eight assists in 23 appearances for the Wanderers.
The Dutchman began his professional football career in 2000 where he played for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie and went on to play for eleven seasons in his home nation while also having a stint at AEK Athens. He made eight appearances for the Dutch U-21 side where he played alongside Manchester United-s Robin Van Persie.
