Ante Covic was one of the Western Sydney Wanderers stars of their inaugural Hyundai A-League season in 2012-13. Covic helped the Wanderers to the best defensive record in the A-League, conceding only 21 goals, and helped the side claim the Premier-s Plate with some inspired performances throughout the season.
The Wanderers is Covic-s third A-League club after making over 50 appearances for the Newcastle Jets between 2007-09 while also having had a season with the Melbourne Victory. He started his career in the NSL with APIA Leichardt and Marconi Stallions before spending over a decade plying his trade on foreign soil in Greece and Sweden.
Covic is no doubt looking to the challenge of having to repel some of the world-s best attackers in Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney when Manchester United takes on the A-League All Stars on 20 July.
