Brisbane Roar may have finished their season in a way which encapsulates their 2018/19 campaign, but incoming head coach Robbie Fowler believes he knows what needs doing to turn the club’s fortunes around.
Brisbane Roar’s 5-3 loss to Adelaide United gives the club an unwanted record of conceding the most goals in a Hyundai A-League season – 71 goals in 27 games – but that didn’t appear to worry the Liverpool talisman.

Fowler said it’s a challenge he’s more than willing to take on.
“I know what I’ve got to do, I know what players need to come in,” said Fowler.
“It’s obviously a challenge, but a challenge I’m up for.
“You’re always looking for the new challenge, things that excite you.
For me, it’s a massive, massive opportunity, it really is.”

One of the players that may be crucial to Fowler’s rebuild is Nicholas D’Agostino.
The 21-year-old forward, who got on the scoresheet in first-half stoppage-time to give Brisbane a 2-1 lead, has grown into a confident striker under interim head coach Darren Davies.
Now, he’s ready to prepare himself for a new era under Fowler.
“I think the boys are physically good, I think it’s mindset at the moment — it’s been happening quite regularly this season,” said D’Agostino.
“I just want to make sure when I come back on that first day, I’m fit and ready to go.
“No injuries, body’s good and hopefully I can get out there and perform.”
