Melbourne City captain Bruno Fornaroli has declared himself ready to start and play a full 90 minutes in the Melbourne Derby.
The marquee man has been restricted to a pair of cameo appearances since returning from ankle surgery.
City have lost both matches and their talismanic striker is itching to put the record straight at AAMI Park on Friday night.
“I feel good. I feel fine. I am very happy to come back to play,” Fornaroli told reporters on Tuesday.
“I try to do everything to help my team-mates, especially in this game because it’s special for everyone.
“I feel ready [to play a full match]. If they ask, I will say yes. Of course.”
Fornaroli was joined at a media event on Tuesday by young gun Daniel Arzani, who continued his superb start to life in the Hyundai A-League with a classy goal in last weekend’s late 2-1 loss at Perth Glory.
The 19-year-old revealed his excitement to experience the “crazy” atmosphere of a traditionally pulsating affair.
“I’ve always been at the derbies and it’s absolutely mental. I can’t wait to get out there,” Arzani said.
“Obviously very disappointed coming away from [the Perth] game, I think we deserved to get more out of it.
“But [the derby] is completely different to all the other games in the season.
“We’ve got supreme confidence going in and hopefully we can do really well.
“I think it’s very crucial we get the three points to not only stay on top of Victory but also to try and hopefully catch Newcastle by the end of the season.”
