A select Melbourne City FC squad will take on Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F in a friendly at City Football Academy, Melbourne on Tuesday.
R&F are currently in pre-season for their seventh consecutive campaign in the Chinese top tier as they face some of Melbourne’s A-League and NPL Victoria sides.
The match provides an opportunity for Warren Joyce to give minutes to players who are in need of time on the park, most notably forward Bruno Fornaroli.
The Uruguayan will feature in the match as he continues to rack up minutes on the pitch with the potential for him to feature as soon as Saturday night’s clash with Sydney FC at AAMI Park.
It will also be a key match for City’s Y-League side as they look to bounce back from last week’s Y-League Grand Final loss and prepare for the start of the NPL season this month.
