Former Reds striker on target in K-League

Former Adelaide United fan-favourite Bruce Djite was on target in Korea overnight, netting his first goal of the season to help Suwon FC maintain their perfect start to their K-League campaign.

Djite fired home a left-footed strike from the edge of the area with just over 20 minutes remaining to hand Suwon a 1-0 win at home to Bucheon FC 1995.

Djite’s strike helped Suwon to their second straight win to start the K-League Challenge season, with fellow-Aussie Adrian Leijer getting through 90 minutes for the hosts.

In Korea, defender Tomislav Mrcela played a full match but could do little as his Jeonnam Dragons were beaten 3-1 at home to Sangju Sangmu.

And in the Chinese Super League, Robbie Kruse got through a full game as Liaoning secured a 1-1 draw away to Henan Jianye.

Robbie Kruse has reportedly joined Chinese club Liaoning FC.

Fellow Socceroo James Holland was not in the squad for the visitors.

Meanwhile in Denmark, new Socceroo Awer Mabil got through a full shift for Esbjerg but his side fell to a 2-0 loss away to runaway leaders Kobenhavn.

One-time Socceroo Brent McGrath was a late substitute for the visitors.
