Former Newcastle Jets defender Daniel Alessi has wasted little time settling his future, joining NPL NSW champions Manly United.
Alessi left the Jets by mutual consent on Monday after failing to break into Ernie Merrick’s high-flying first-team squad.

And the 20-year-old has joined Paul Dee’s Manly outfit as he seeks some consistent game-time as he looks to relaunch his career following his recovery from an ACL injury.
“I’m excited to be joining Manly United and really looking forward to getting back on the pitch and playing some football,” Alessi said.
“They did very well last year to win the Grand Final and I want to do my bit to ensure we gain more success in 2018.
“I grew up on the North Shore so this is the perfect club for me and I’m looking forward to settling into training, meeting the players and getting down to business.”
Alessi started his Hyundai A-League career at Western Sydney Wanderers before joining the Jets at the beginning of the 2016/17 Hyundai A-League Season.
But disaster struck just a few weeks into his time in the Hunter, going down with a torn ACL in training and ruling him out of the entirety of last season.
The NSW NPL season begins on March 10, with Manly United hosting APIA Leichhardt in a replay of last season’s grand final.
