Former Adelaide United midfielder George Mells will play in the Dutch Eredivisie next season after signing for Fortuna Sittard.

Mells, 21, impressed during a trial in the Netherlands, earning a one-year deal with the newly-promoted club.

The ex-Chelsea junior spent two seasons in the Hyundai A-League and was part of the Reds squad which won the double in 2015/16.
Mells is an Australian youth international and is hoping to re-ignite his career after injury and illness plagued his last 12 months.
