The Newcastle Jets have agreed to the release of attacking midfielder Marcos Flores to pursue an opportunity with an overseas club.
Flores has been offered a long-term contract overseasĀ and the club has agreed to release himĀ from the remainder of his contract.Ā
āMarcos has worked hard to get himself fit and back in contention for the first team, but the offer he has received from overseas gives him security so in the best interests of the player we have decided to grant this release,” said Jets coach Phil Stubbins.Ā
“Marcos is a passionate and proud footballer and everyone at the club wishes him all the success in his next move.”
Flores thanked the club for their support during a difficult period in his career.Ā

Marcos Flores made 73 Hyundai A-League appearances scoring 17 goals including 6 appearances and 1 goal for the Newcastle Jets.
