With EA SPORTS’ FIFA 17 set to launch soon, who do you think might be their top ten rated players in the Hyundai A-League?
Well, here they are from 10-1. Let the banter begin…
10: Matt McKay Brisbane Roar
FIFA rating: 71
Fit, feisty and a tough leader in the middle of the park. Everyone needs a player like McKay to drive them onto glory.
9: Marcello Carrusca Adelaide United
FIFA rating: 71
The Argentine provides the creative spark and quality in behind the strikers. Playmakers like “Cello” can orchestrate so many attacking moves and goals.
8: Fahid Ben Khalfallah Melbourne Victory
FIFA rating: 71
The striker has been a revelation at the Big V. A handy player to have. Can play wide or central and scores regularly.
7: Roly Bonevacia Wellington Phoenix
FIFA rating: 72
The central midfielder has shown he can be creative and score some flashing goals. A key cog in any team’s midfield. Can play as a six, eight or ten.
6: James Troisi Melbourne Victory
FIFA rating: 73
The Asian Cup final hero has a great pedigree and this season will be about re-establishing himself at Victory and in the Socceroos. A classy attacking midifielder.
5: Besart Berisha Melbourne Victory
FIFA rating: 74
Still the forward every team wants (and loves to hate). Fiercely committed and a sure-fire scorer finishing in double digits each season.
4: Tim Cahill Melbourne City
FIFA rating: 74
“Super Tim” scores wherever he goes. And his influence over teams is always positive. A must-have for any A-League team.
3: Bobo Sydney FC
FIFA rating: 75
Huge expectations on the Brazilian. He’s looking good in pre-season at the Sky Blues and we reckon he might score a bagful this season.
2: Diego Castro Perth Glory
FIFA rating: 75
Reigning A-League player of the year, the Spaniard was electric last season. His goals were simply sublime at times.
1: Bruno Fornaroli Melbourne City
FIFA rating: 76
The highest rated player in the A-League – and for good reason. He smashed the Golden Boot last season. Simply one of the greatest imports we’ve seen.
