We’re only six rounds into the season but already we’re seeing a break from the pack at the top of the league and it’s no surprise players from these leading teams are dominating points scoring in Fantasy A-League.
The top four teams are at least six points clear of the bottom five. Of those, Adelaide United, Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC are undefeated.
League leaders Perth Glory are sitting pretty on the back of their best-ever start to a season, while the Asian Champions Wanderers only picked up their first point of the campaign midweek.
This weekend’s fixtures will see an influx of stars returning from international duty, with the Socceroos, Olyroos and All Whites among those in action during the FIFA break.
Nathan Burns and Besart Berisha still top the points standings with 43 to their name, while Henrique is not far behind after collecting more than half of his season’s haul against the Jets.
Managers will still need to have their wits about them for Round 7 with Corey Gamiero’s season ending injury and Liam Miller’s transfer to Melbourne City two things to consider.

Star Man
Henrique ($391,000): The Brazilian’s price has sky-rocketed by over six figures this week on the back of his hat-trick against Newcastle – off the bench no less. Fantasy Managers have been keen to bring in the lively forward, who still represents good business at his current price. However it will be interesting to see if his exploits earn him a place in Roar’s starting XI or if he is again deployed off the bench against Victory.
Dud of the Week
Newcastle Jets: Following a strong showing in their first home game of the season against Victory, the Jets were desperately disappointing in Harvey Norman Friday Night Football against the reigning Champions. They conceded four unanswered goals at Hunter Stadium and needless to stay none of their players scored more than a couple of points for their efforts.
Coach Killer
Fahid Ben Khalfallah ($283,000): The Tunisian international would’ve had Fanasy Managers pulling their hair out when he failed to shoot with the goal beckoning against Sydney FC. Instead he played the ball to an off-side Besart Berisha. The Scout had both players in our starting XI so were robbed of a goal and an assist but are standing by these two stars this weekend.
Value Pick
Scott Jamieson (256,000): Defenders who can get on the scoresheet are worth their weight in gold and the Glory had two last weekend in the shape of Scott Jamieson and Dino Djulbic. Jamieson scored a superlative free-kick, matching the exploits of teammate Nebojsa Marinkovic in the Westfield FFA Cup. Glen Moss will need to have his wits about him this weekend with these two over the ball at set-pieces.
Pick of the Week
Sergio Cirio (346,000): The Spanish magician has been in a rich vein of goal scoring form this season. While the likes of Besisha, Keogh and Burns have topped the points scoring up front to date, Cirio has been a consistent contributor. We’re predicting he’ll get on the scoresheet once again against a Mariners defence that’s failed to convince this season.
