Experienced defender Allen rounds out Victory recruitment

Melbourne Victory head coach Jeff Hopkins has high hopes for the Westfield W-League season after finalising his squad with the signing of Teigen Allen.

Ex-Melbourne City defender Allen leaves Sydney FC and follows the likes of Emily Gielnik, Grace Maher, Christine Nairn and Dani Weatherholt to Victory.

The 24-year-old arrives with plenty of Westfield Matildas experience, much to the delight of Hopkins.

“Teigen has worked really hard to earn a spot at Victory, her work ethic has been outstanding,” he told the club’s website.

“She is really experienced for her age and you can never have too much quality at your disposal.

“It’s great to add more proven W-League talent to the squad, to complement those that have already signed.

“We have a great playing group locked in for the season and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”
