Ex-Victory star’s debut win in J-League

Former Melbourne Victory midfielder Oliver Bozanic debuted overnight for his new Japanese club Ventforet Kofu, getting through a full 90 minutes in their 2-0 J-League win over Sapporo.

The 2014 World Cup player for the Caltex Socceroos departed the Big V recently. His new Japanese club next plays Kawasaki this Saturday.  

AUSSIES UNBEATEN IN SOUTH KOREA

Aleksandar Jovanovic played a full game at centre-back for Jeju Utd as they drew 1-1 with Gwangju FC to remain unbeaten after four games of the new K-League Classic season.

Meantime, Dimi Petratos earned another start for Ulsan Hyundai, but was replaced at half-time as his side left it late to beat Gangwon 2-1.

In the second-tier K-League Challenge, Adrian Leijer played the full 90 minutes as Suwon City drew 1-1 with Gyeongnam.

Fresh from their Super Cup success in Norway, Alex Gersbach’s Rosenborg opened their season with a 3-0 home win over Odd.

The young left-back started the match, but picked up an early yellow card and was replaced at half-time.

JONES EDGED AT AJAX

Brad Jones played a full game for Feyenoord in their top-of-the-table Dutch Eredivisie clash at Ajax.

The Aussie custodian conceded two first-half goals in a 2-1 loss which saw Ajax close to within three points of Feyenoord at the top of the league.
