While Brisbane Roar sparkled in Brisbane overnight, the club’s former striker Dimi Petratos had a less successful night in the ACL for his new K-League club.
Petratos’ Ulsan Hyundai have gone down 1-0 at unbeaten Thai side Muangthong United – a result that serves as a warning for Roar who travel to Thailand for an April 26 meeting.
The former Roar striker played 73 minutes.
Ulsan Hyundai next host Kashima Antlers before his side visit Brisbane for their final Group E match on May 10.
Sparkling Roar too good for Kashima in ACL
Elsewhere in the ACL and former Sydney FC favourite Matt Jurman has claimed bragging rights over Josh Mitchell.
The two former A-League men were on opposite sides in the Asian Champions League with Jurman’s Suwon Bluewings beating Mitchell’s Eastern SC 5-0.
Former Glory and Jets utility Mitchell played the full 90 minutes for his Hong Kong outfit, while ex-Sky Blues defender Jurman was an unused substitute for his Korean side.
Suwon are top of Group G after four unbeaten matches while Eastern SC remain bottom with a solitary point from four outings.
