Ex-Jets midfielder joins NPL NSW club

Former Newcastle Jets playmaker Devante Clut has found a new club, linking up with NPL NSW outfit Blacktown City Demons.

Clut parted ways with the Jets by mutual consent after failing to break into Ernie Merrickā€™s first team plans.

And heā€™s wasted little time sorting out his next destination, confirming on Monday he will play the 2018 season with Blacktown City.

ā€œDevante is a great addition to the squad and I look forward to working with him on the park,ā€ Demons boss Mark Crittenden said.

ā€œWe will sit down with him in coming days and work on setting some goals for him this season.ā€

Clut made 24 appearances for the Jets after arriving at the club in 2016 from Brisbane Roar.

Heā€™ll wear the number seven jersey for Blacktown.

Clutā€™s signing is a huge addition for the Demons as they look to get back to the top of the NSW NPL in 2018 as well as go for another run deep into the Westfield FFA Cup.
