Sydney FC winger Douglas Costa has hit the ground running in Sky Blue.
The 33-year-old, who joined the club in August, impressed throughout his 69-minute competitive Sydney debut against Hong Kong outfit Eastern SC in the AFC Champions League Two.
Costa was named to start in the Sky Blues’ first game in the continental competition and played a classy role in Sydney’s opening goal, scored by fellow new signing Anas Ouahim.

Costa then notched his first assist in a competitive Sydney fixture just before half-time with a pinpoint delivery to Rhyan Grant.
The Brazilian continued to make his mark after half-time and just 10 minutes into the second half played a no-look ball into the feet of Patryk Klimala to begin the move that Ouahim finished off to secure his brace.
As one of the most high-profile signings in Isuzu UTE A-League history, Costa has arrived in the league with pressure to live up to his reputation as a world-renowned talent but Sydney FC fans will be encouraged by what they saw from their new star at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Thursday night.
