Perth Glory has called time on midfielder Travis Dodd-s time at the club, confirming he would not be offered a new contract at season’s end.

The Glory revealed the decision came following consultation with the club-s medical staff on its assessment of the anterior cruciate ligament injury Dodd suffered in March last year, which has seen him sidelined since.

“Travis is an extremely popular member of our team, a true fan favourite. He is a thorough professional and respected by everyone involved here at the Club,” Perth Glory CEO Jason Brewer said.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such a professional leader in times of success and uncertainty, and on behalf of everyone at the Club we wish Travis Dodd all the best.”

“Given the severity of his injury, Travis has been unable to play this season and will continue his rehabilitation and recovery work with the Club.”

Dodd, who joined Perth from Adelaide in 2011, scored nine goals in 48 appearances for the Glory, his last outing coming in a 3-2 win over Melbourne Victory, a game in which he scored but also suffered the serious injury.

It is uncertain whether this will signal the end to the 34 year olds professional career, the Socceroo representative having amassed 185 appearances and 39 goals in the Hyundai A-League for Adelaide United and the Glory.
