Perth defender Dino Djulbic has been granted to permission by the club to trial with German second division side SpVgg Greuther Furth.

Djulbic is currently in Germany, but will return in time for Glory’s match against Wellington on Saturday night.

Coach Dave Mitchell said Djulbic had expressed a strong desire to trial with the Bavarian club and the timing was such that it gave the player and Perth Glory the best opportunity to benefit from any possible move.

“With the European transfer window not far off they wanted to have a closer look at Dino before making a decision on securing his services in January,” Mitchell said.

“Dino is out of contract with the Glory after this season but if this opportunity works out then it will not only be good for him but Perth Glory will benefit by colleting a transfer fee.”

“We have three matches in 13 days to finish off this month and we all agreed that this was the only time Dino could complete the trial before the January window.”

Djulbic grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons in September when he was suspended for five matches after allegedly spitting at a referee.
