Perth defender Dino Djulbic will only be sidelined for two weeks after injuring his ankle during the Glory’s 2-0 victory over Wellington on Sunday.
It was initially feared that Djulbic had sustained a long-term injury in the 65th minute of the match as he wasn’t able to come back to the field of play.
However, tests on Monday confirmed that damage wasn’t serious and Djulbic should only miss one match as next round is played over two weeks to accommodate Adelaide United’s AFC Champions League final commitments.
“The pain was excruciating when I first did it but with treatment the ankle has responded really well overnight and it was nice to get some good news today,” Djulbic said.
“I never like being in the stands just watching but the diagnosis is as good as I could have hoped and I’ll just concentrate now on my rehab and getting back out there as soon as I can.”
The 25-year-old will sit out this week’s encounter with the Newcastle Jets at Members Equity Stadium.
