“[It’s] disappointing to lose that way but I think there’s so many positives for us. We had a very young midfield that did exceptionally well today. We showed a lot of personality today, it’s always a difficult place to come.

New Auckland FC coach Pedro Moreira acknowledged the win but flagged that in future the performance shown would not satisfy.
“We must enjoy the 90 minutes as a player and coach, this is our life, our profession, but we must enjoy what we are doing,” Moreira said.
“I love the way that the players work and the ambition they show.
“Probably I will not be so happy in a few games if we win, with such low quality. But it’s important to start well. We can decrease the demands from now on.”
