De Vanna banned for code of conduct breach

Perth Glory Westfield W-League Player, Lisa de Vanna (Player), was in breach of the National Code of Conduct (Code) by virtue of comments made on social media.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has concluded that Perth Glory Westfield W-League Player, Lisa de Vanna (Player), was in breach of the National Code of Conduct (Code) by virtue of comments made on social media.

FFA has determined that the following sanction shall be applicable:

The Player is suspended for a total of six (6) Westfield W-League and/or National Team matches. Two (2) of these matches are to be served immediately. Accordingly, the Player is prevented from taking part in the Westfield W-League Round 11 and 12 fixtures against the Newcastle Jets (5/1/2013) and Adelaide United (12/1/2013). The remaining four (4) match sanction is to be suspended and shall only be triggered by one of the following events:
a) The Player breaches the Code in the following 12 month period; or
b) The Player fails to undergo appropriate counselling and education. Compliance with this requirement, and accordingly whether the four (4) match suspension will be triggered, shall be determined by FFA in its sole discretion.
