Perth Glory have suffered a blow to getting their season back on track with injury forcing experienced defender Chris Coyne out of action for three months.

Scans have revealed Coyne, 32, has torn his right Achilles in an injury picked up during the week 7 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory, and the sometime-Socceroo will be on the sidelines for a minimum of three months.

“Obviously it-s a huge blow and an injury we didn-t need,” Glory coach Ian Ferguson said.

“With Scott Neville already out and Steve Pantelidis still a few weeks away from match fitness, it leaves us short at the back.

“Chris is a big character and leader, a player we will miss.”
