Brisbane’s midfield maestro Corona says the Roar will be a different proposition at home against Adelaide, as the club hopes to welcome their two-millionth home fan to Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
The league leaders have dropped points in successive weeks on the road and failed to register a goal agianst the Phoenix and Victory.
Despite the blip John Aloisi’s side have clung to a one point lead at the league’s summit and Corona was confident the side would skip four points clear in the Round 16 opener against a resurgent Reds outfit.
“We are on the right track, the game on Friday against Adelaide is a very hard game but I think in our home (ground), we are very strong,” Corona said.
“It is a very difficult game. We have confidence in our structures. It is difficult but we can do it.”
The experienced Spanish midfielder (above) said everyone in the squad had taken responsibility for last week’s disappointing loss against Victory.
“When the team lost 4-0 it is because everybody was under our (normal) level, not one player,” he said.
“For us, (this week) is a very good opportunity to forget the last game. Everybody can do a bad day.”
Defender Jack Hingert agreed that last Friday had hurt but the squad’s focus was on the Adelaide United game.
“It was a disappointing loss down there in Melbourne but we are going to use it and learn from our mistakes and like every week, work to improve each week,” Hingert (below) said.
“Adelaide is what we are focusing on and that’s what we are working towards this week.
“I’m looking forward to our battle. Adelaide have always been a good team . . . they’ve always had great players and play great football.
“They are looking dangerous at the moment so we have to be at our best and that’s what we are going to work on this week at training to make sure we are ready for them on Friday.
“We’re just looking forward to getting back to Suncorp in front of our home fans.”
