Hyundai A-League newcomers Western United FC have confirmed they will play their first-ever match in a pre-season friendly next month.
United confirmed on their Facebook page on Monday they will take on Caroline Springs George Cross FC on Wednesday, August 21.

The venue and other details are yet to be released, although the match will kick-off at 7:30pm AEST.
It will be a historic occasion for the club as they head into their debut season in the Hyundai A-League in 2019/20.
The club officially began pre-season training earlier this month under inaugural boss Mark Rudan.

It’s been a whirlwind period for United, who so far have 20 players on their books following the acquisition of Italian star Alessandro Diamanti last week.
As well as the match against Caroline Springs George Cross FC, Football Director Steve Horvat told a-league.com.au last month the squad will embark on a pre-season tour in coming weeks.
