Caltex Socceroos hopeful Luke Brattan believes Melbourne City’s emerging culture can contribute to the club’s push for a maiden trophy this season.
City ended a taxing week with their second win in three matches as Bruno Fornaroli’s brilliant double proved the difference against Adelaide United on Friday night.
Brattan was again integral to City’s victory just days after scoring the opener in his side’s 2-0 Westfield FFA Cup win over derby rivals Melbourne Victory.

“It’s a fantastic club. It feels like a family,” Brattan told Fox Sports.
“There is a fantastic atmosphere down here and we want to win some silverware this year.”
Brattan has been rewarded for his blistering start to the season with a spot in Ange Postecoglou’s extended 30-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Thailand.
The City midfielder is desperate to break into the national team squad under his former Brisbane Roar boss.
“That’s the ultimate goal for me. I want to play for my country,” Brattan said.
“I haven’t got a cap yet and that’s the long-term goal for me, or short-term (if I’m selected).
“If I make it (it’s a) bonus, if I don’t I’ll work my arse off to get there.”
