Melbourne City coach John van ’t Schip is content with his side’s 1-1 draw away to Brisbane Roar despite grabbing the lead early in the second half.
Harry Novillo opened the scoring shortly after the restart before Henrique’s equaliser ensured the visitors remain outside the top six.

“Overall I think we should be happy with the result knowing where we are at this moment,” van ’t Schip said.
“With the players that are coming back, and still the players that we miss, it’s a never-ending story but it’s a fact where are in at this moment.”
In addition to pointing out the positives of Jacob Melling’s adjustment to central-defence and greater minutes for Harry Novillo and Corey Gameiro, van ’t Schip reserved praise for Aaron Mooy’s dedication.
The midfielder started for the Socceroos in Bangladesh during the week and was involved in City’s opener despite not being at his dominant best.
“You could see Aaron was tired today,” van ’t Schip said.
“Normally he’s more involved and more dictating a game. But still playing 90 minutes in this kind of circumstance was still a very good performance for him.”
