Melbourne City has announced the signing of American defender Hailie Mace for the remainder Westfield W-League 2018/19 Season.
The 21-year old has recently been drafted to Sky Blue FC in the NWSL from her college side UCLA Bruins.

Despite being a defender by trade, Mace clearly likes to get forward, having scored 24 goals in 79 appearances for the Bruins.
Her standout college career was reflected during the draft, being selected at pick two in the first round and will swap one sky blue shirt for another at the conclusion of the Westfield W-League season.

Despite not having any senior experience, Mace has already made her debut for her the USA Women’s national team, making three appearances since lining up against Mexico back in April 2018.
Speaking to melbournecity.com.au, Mace revealed her excitement at linking up with City.
“I’ve always wanted to come to Australia and I’m really excited to learn from the players and coaches. Hopefully I can score some goals or get some assists to help the team,” Mace said
