Chiellini: “New chapter under Allegri”

Just a week out from heading Down Under, Juventus star Giorgio Chiellini insists the departure of coach Antonio Conte won’t derail the club’s success on the park.

The Italian champions have endured a disruptive pre-season with Conte walking away from the club and being replaced by Massimiliano Allegri.

Just how the change will affect the Bianconeri will be known a little more when Juve’s star-studded squad takes on the Foxtel All Stars at ANZ Stadium on August 10.

Chiellini and the majority of Juve’s international stars returned to full training yesterday following an extended break after the World Cup. They are set to leave Italy this Sunday for their Asian pre-season tour that begins in Indonesia, heads to Sydney then to Singapore.

“It’s been a very intense last two months,” Chiellini told Football Italia (http://www.football-italia.net/52746/chiellini-still-striving-success).

“The World Cup began as a great adventure with real enthusiasm and expectation – but unfortunately it ended with disappointment.

“Then there was the unexpected departure of Conte. But a new chapter has now begun with Allegri.

“On my part, there is a great desire to continue down the path we have carved for ourselves these last three years. We want to keep on bringing great success to this club.”

Juventus, who have won the last three Scudetti, have promised to bring all their stars to Australia for the All Stars clash in what is a huge bonus for Aussie fans.

Along with the expected farewell of Juventus and A-League legend Alessandro Del Piero, it will an event of global interest at ANZ Stadium on August 10.

The FOXTEL A-League All Stars will meet Juventus at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on 10 August with the match to be broadcast live and exclusive on the Seven Network nationally.
