FFA Cup hero Craig Goodwin scored his second double in as many matches to cap Adelaide United’s dream week with a 3-0 away win over Central Coast Mariners.
On target twice in the memorable midweek triumph against Sydney FC, star winger Goodwin dismissed any notion of a celebratory hangover as he struck in the early part of both halves.

The 26-year-old also assisted Apostolos Stamatelopoulos’ second Hyundai A-League goal to lead the Reds to a comfortable first league victory of the new campaign.
Marco Kurz handed Stamatelopoulos a chance to audition for the rotating centre-forward’s spot and the young striker delivered as early as the ninth minute, crossing to the near post for Goodwin to head in off Kye Rowles.

The favour was returned seven minutes later with Goodwin reeling in Scott Galloway’s pass and squaring for the teenager to double the advantage.
Central Coast escaped without further damage before the interval but a three-goal buffer wasn’t far away for the dominant visitors.
Ben Kennedy gifted Goodwin an eighth goal in seven competitive appearances when he allowed a relatively tame free-kick to slip through his grasp in the 56th minute.
Ryan Kitto had two good chances to extend the margin while Tommy Oar and Matt Simon eventually worked Paul Izzo, but they were rare moments of alarm for Adelaide on an otherwise serene addendum to Tuesday’s FFA Cup Final 2018 success.
