One of the most popular Hyundai A-League players, Zenon Caravella, has decided to hang up his boots and will focus on his coaching academy in Cairns.
Caravella, 32, last played in the A-League in Season 10 during a chaotic season at Newcastle Jets.
The attacking midfielder played for the Jets over two separate stints after beginning his career at St George.
He also he plied his trade in New Zealand with the Kingz and in Holland with Omniworld.Â
The Cairns-born player was tempted back to join new A-League club Gold Coast in 2010 but joined Adelaide United a season later before his first stint in the Hunter.Â
Last season at the Jets, his Opta stats reveal an 88% passing accuracy from 20 games (17 starts) with 69% of tackles won.Â
Caravella made 147 appearances in the Hyundai A-League.
