Canberra defender to miss remainder of Westfield W-League season

Canberra United have confirmed Natasha Prior will miss the rest of the Westfield W-League due to a severe concussion.

Prior was taken from the pitch on a stretcher following a nasty collision with a Sydney FC player during their Round 5 encounter at McKellar Park.

Scans cleared the defender of serious damage but she will play no further part for Heather Garriock’s side over the remaining weeks in order to prioritise her recovery.

“It is always a shame to lose a talented player to injury,” Garriock said.

“But it is important that Tash takes the time out to make a full recovery and comes back to the pitch even stronger.

“The club will support Tash through this time, she is still a part of the training environment with us, and we all can’t wait to see her back playing football.”
